Teddy Bear Days for Joshua

Posted by meganmartineau in kid's photo session in Monterey

Teddy Bear Days for Joshua is a special session that we at HBP are doing to help this baby's family.  Born at just 26 weeks of gestation, this lil fighter is doing well at the hospital, and Tricare pays for it all.  But Mom and Dad need help; they have excess bills and everything that adds up when your baby is 2.5 hours away from you.

Here at HBP we love to offer themed portrait sessions, and here's your chance to try us out!  Simply call us at our NEW number 831-324-4175 to schedule your session for next week.  Oh, unless you call me while I'm in Anchorage from Wednesday to Monday, and for that you should call me at 907-575-2020.

Here's the schedule that I've put together for next week to allow EVERYONE time to come in for this fantastic deal!

Prepping for the SAT and ACT?

Posted by meganmartineau in Monterey county high school seniors

Prepping for the SAT and ACT? Ace college entrance exams the first time with these easy tips and tricks!

PREPARATION

• Use Collegeboard.org’s SAT daily question email to get one sample test question in your inbox every day. It’s a simple, less overwhelming way to get your brain warmed up for the real thing. It’s also available as an iphone app! http://sat.collegeboard.org/practice...ion-of-the-day
• Take a test prep class. Kaplan offers courses that are tailored to the SAT or the ACT. Check out their website: http://www.kaptest.com/College/SAT/index.html
• Use a tutor to help you target your weakest subject.

TESTING

• Make sure you bring a watch, and don’t linger on one question longer than two or three minutes.
• Answer the easier questions first and go back to answer the hard ones last.
• Use the process of elimination to give yourself better odds on each question. If you know two answers aren’t right, that gives you a 50% chance of getting the right answer instead of only 25%.
• If you have to guess, the answer with the most information is usually correct.
• Never leave an answer blank. You should at least guess one of the options, because leaving it blank guarantees that you get it wrong.
• If you read the question and come up with the answer before reading the multiple choice options, this will help you avoid getting confused by “all of the above” or “none of the above” type of situations.
• Trust your first instinct—it’s usually correct!

Happy Testing!

Teddy Bear Days for Joshua

Posted by in honey bee photography

Joshua is a baby who was born at 26 weeks gestation, and is at Stanford Hospital. Of course Tri-care is covering the baby's needs, but not the family.  They need all of the help they can get.

Many home party consultants and business owners in our military community are donating a portion of their sales to this family for the next several weeks.

Honey Bee Photography is running "Teddy Bear Days for Joshua" for the next 3 Fridays. For only $25, you get a 10 minute micro session and 3-4x6 high resolution images emailed to you. $6.25 from each of these sessions will be donated to this beautiful family.

8 year old twin boys!

Posted by meganmartineau in twin pictures

This fine family of four found me because I'd given out candy with little ads at Halloween this past year.  Funny story, because they had just moved from Fairbanks, AK, and of course, we'd just moved from Anchorage, AK.  They weren't sure if they'd found me in Fairbanks or here.  This created some confusion for the family and apparently my ad almost got thrown out a couple of times.  Note to self:  I really need a local phone number for the studio.

Beautiful couple!
